A Christmas to remember

This has been the best Christmas ever. I have always loved Christmastime, but having your own child to celebrate with is truly a blessing! The smile on Connor's face on Christmas morning will be one for the books. He couldn't even take everything all in and I still don't think he has quite comprehended everything. He knows that Santa had to go back to the North Pole to take a nap, but still wonders when he will be back. I think we are all still trying to recuperate from a whirlwind pass week, but I wouldn't change anything for a second. Thank you to everyone that made Christmas special for our little boogies! We love you!!!

All Aboard....

On Sunday, Eric and I took Connor to The Polar Express exhibit in Grapevine. Connor was so excited about getting to ride on a real train. The weather wasn't the best, but we still had a blast. We got there and were immediately greeted by a Christmas Tree and Rudoloph. They were so gracious to take a picture. The whole Main Street was decorated with lights, villages, etc. We walked a little before heading to the depot. Connor got a bag of popcorn and hot chocolate. YUMMY! We met the Gross Family and off we went. They started us out in a tent with carols and the kids even got their own Polar Express ornament. After a few songs, they invited any kiddo to come up and sing. Well, Connor definitely does not have stage fright. He sang (yelled) Jiggle Bells. You can not help but to love this kid! After we all boarded the train, they began telling a story. To be honest we were all to busy talking and looking out the window to hear what story was being told. I am guessing... The Polar Express? Soon, we were greeted by none other than Santa himself. Connor was beyond excited to see him. As soon as we were back to the depot Eric bought Connor the largest corny dog I have ever seen. Connor chowed down!! Next, Connor and Macy got to make a reindeer ornament. Even though we were all freezing I have to say the kiddos enjoyed themselves. Sorry there are so many pictures.

Gingerbread Fun!!

Connor and I made a gingerbread house on Saturday night while Eric was at the Cowboys game. (We had more fun!) Check out the pics. Also, Connor keeps wondering how Santa is going to make it down the fireplace. We got the perfect picture... sorry for the underwear shot.

Merry Christmas

Last night we took Connor to see Santa at Willowbend. Connor was so excited and waited patiently I have to say. (We only had to wait about 15 minutes.) The minute it was our turn Connor RAN up to say to say Hi. Santa asked him if he has been a good little boy and Connor said without hesitation, "Yes Santa, I no hit Grant." Can you tell what we have been dealing with at school? :) He quickly climbed up in Santa's lap. Santa asked him what he wanted and of course he still wants a blue bicycle. Thank heaven!! We left the mall about an hour later and Connor ran over to tell Santa bye along with everyone else around. I absolutely love this kid!!!

A Night Out On The Town

Thank you MeMe and PePaw for watching me this weekend. I had a lot of fun. I love you guys!! Making cookies!! YUMMY

Saturday night Eric and I went out with all our neighbors to look at Christmas lights. What better way to do that then to rent a limo?!? We had so much fun!! Thanks Matt and Kristen for setting it up. Few of the chicas!

Last time we were in a limo was when we were leaving our wedding. WOW time flies.

Burrr It Was Cold!!

We survived our family pictures outside on Saturday. Remind me next year to schedule them for late September or early October. It was quite chilly, but we survived. Kayla was fabulous to work with and so good with Connor. She sent us a few pics.... I can't wait to see all of them.
On Saturday night we went to Matt and Kristen's house to watch the Texas Tech game. They taught Connor a 'Raider Power' cheer and to stick his guns up. I think PePaw and Aunt Renee will have something to say about that.

A week in review...

So last weekend we had the first Foxwood Thanksgiving. Most of you have heard either Eric or I talk about our neighbors, but we truly have the best! These are the neighbors that aren't only there for sugar or a can a tomato sauce, but these are the neighbors that buy Connor shoes because they thought he would look cute in them, bring Connor a Halloween treat bag because they will not be here for Halloween or even break one of their hockey sticks at their game and instead of throwing it away they cut it even shorted and fix it so Connor can have his very own hockey stick. Now you have already seen pics of NasCar, but not only did these neighbors buy Connor one shirt, but instead 2 shirts, a hat and his own NasCar car. WOW, aren't we lucky! So, we had everyone over for an early Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for!!!

On Tuesday we got to babysit Lanie!! Lanie and Connor are only 5 months apart and always have a blast together. I really don't think they sat down for more than 5 minutes. They even ate dinner on the run. Needless to say they went fast to sleep, exhausted!

Last night we went to the grocery store to get firewood to keep us toasty warm and decided we needed a lot more than that. Check out the pics of Connor pushing his own shopping cart.

Sorry forgot to post pictures of Connor's school Halloween party. Also, here are a few of the pictures from NasCar. Of course this is before the kid freaked out. In his defense I have never in my life heard anything so loud.

Before the race started with his headset on.Greg bought Little Man a NasCar shirt and car. Connor didn't put the car down the whole entire time. He even slept with it on the way home. Connor, Rachel and Grant at school. In the pumpkin patch!Daddy helping Connor with his snack. YUMMY!

SUPERMAN!!!

Superman was once again a hit! Connor had his Halloween party on Friday at school. Eric and I both got to join in on the fun. Superman and his friends were so cute all dressed up. Last year when Connor had holiday parties he would just whine and cry the whole time, YEAH that was my kid. He couldn't understand why I was there and we weren't going home. This year he sat and listened to the directions and interacted with everyone. He is all grown up! :) Ms. Emily and Ms. Daphne went all out with the decorations and even made a make-shift pumpkin patch for the kids. After they made their craft and dessert, they got to play in the pumpkin patch and dance. Superman LOVES to dance! On Friday we took Connor trick or treating around the neighbor with Ryan and the boys. He loved to walk up to the houses and say "Trick or Treat"! Eric and I were both impressed with how long he lasted, but you will see that after about an hour superman was tired of walking so Daddy had to help. I love this kid!!

Fall Festivities

The madness has begun! Even though Connor has been under the weather we still have been going full force. Last Friday night, Eric and I took superman to a Fall Festival at Safety Town. (I think along with every other family in Frisco.) We waited in line for about 25 minutes, which was a lot better than the people that came a few hours later and waited for over an hour. While we were waiting Connor got to talk to a clown and climb in a firetruck. With all that being excited he still wanted to go home. He kept saying "I want to go home now." The only thing we could say was are you such you want to go home or go get candy. Yep, candy won. After we got inside he had a blast. Safety Town is a small version of Frisco with a bank, Wal-Mart and even a toll plaza. Each house had someone passing out candy, stickers, etc. We only stayed for about 45 minutes because that is about all one of the boys could stand (Eric). :)

On Saturday was Lanie's special day!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANIE!!!! She had her birthday party at Chuck E' Cheese. This was Connor's first experience at Chuck E' Cheese (we are obsessed with GattiTown)!! He loved it excepted for having to sit still to eat, watch Lanie open gifts, etc. I swear my child has ADHD. The games were a hit though. I will post pics of his Halloween party at school and trick or treating! FUN times ahead!

Part 2

So guess where we ended back up today? That's right Dr. G's office. Connor has been struggling breathing again and with this cold front moving in, I got a little worried. Call me overprotective. Dr. G talked to Connor about how he was feeling. Now, Connor has not one time told us that his ear hurts, but that was the first thing he told Dr. G. Go figure! Dr. G checked his ears and no infection but red. He listened to him breath and could hear the wheezing and labored breathing before he even started. I know that this could be a lot worse but when it is your baby you just want to take it all away. So, next we moved onto testing his oxygen level. I knew it wasn't good when the nurse walked out to get Dr. G. Normal level should be over 98%, closer to 100%..... Connor's was 94%. He wasn't worried but put him on steroids. Does not worried mean telling us to keep a close eye on him and the minute he spikes a fever to bring him in? Does not worried mean telling us to keep an eye on him because this could easily turn into pneumonia? Not sure the doc knows Connor's mommy to well.... I am a worry wart!!! So, now we are on breathing treatments three times a day, steroids twice a day and an antibiotic twice a day. Can the little man take anything else?!? Connor has a busy weekend ahead with a Halloween festival on Friday, birthday party on Saturday and our Fall Festival block party on Sunday. Hopefully the meds will kick in and he will be a little terror again. :) Man I love that kid!!!

the joy's of having a sick child....

Last Monday I had parent/teacher conferences from 10-6 and Connor's school was closed, so what to do. Of course Daddy to the rescue. Eric worked/played from home that day. Around 11:30 my class phone rings, cell phone and then class phone rings again. I knew something had to be going on but couldn't call back until one of my conferences left. I called Eric back to find out that Connor had managed to get ahold of my perfume bottle and broke it. What happens when you have broken glass and a two year old? Yes, they want to pick it up. So Connor cut is finger opened. Now.... Connor has already had stitches once this summer and the amount of blood that came from his head was astonishing. I could only imagine the worst, but I couldn't tell if Eric was overreacting or if it was serious. So off they went to Dr. G's office. Dr. G checked him out and of course his finger was fine just needs to be cleaned. BUT while they are sitting there, Dr. G asked Connor if he was having trouble breathing. Connor's response was "No, Dr. G!" Dr. G listened to his lungs and of course put us back on breathing treatments. Connor has had RSV the last two years and we have spent most of the last 2 winter seasons on breathing treatments. This is not fun! We had planned to take Connor to the fair this weekend, but he had other plans. The coughing is getting a little better, but the wheezing is getting worse. He is very VERY cranky and any parent knows it is not fun taking a cranky, sick 2 year old out in public. Connor took almost a 4 hour nap, which was much needed. Our weekends our usually packed from Friday to Sunday so it was nice to stay home for a change. Eric got all the yard work done and the garaged cleaned out. We also started the next step in Connor's big boy room. YEA!!

Now, anyone that knows my child knows he does not mind getting dirty. He is the first to try new things and doesn't think twice about it. Carving pumpkins is a whole different story. We had a little assembly line going... Connor and I would clean the pumpkin and Eric would cut out the face. Connor was more of a spectator. He kept telling us it was disgusting and gross. I think he liked the finish product more than the process.

Finally....

I can't tell you how much I love this weather. Connor loves to be outside and we don't have to worry about him getting over heated or having so many layers on he sweats. Eric had a softball game on Wednesday night and of course we had to go cheer him on. I don't think Connor stopped running the whole hour. He loves to play with other kids and for the most part he is a great friend, if you can handle the tackling.

I have nagged enough and the painting has finally started on Connor's big boy room. Yes, he moved in their this summer BUT I was told it takes at least 10 times to ask before it will get done. (Yes, that was Eric's exact words.) As much as I did not want Connor's room to have a theme it looks like Connor had a complete different idea. His room is full of transportation! MeMe was in town a few months back and wanted to help get the room started. So off we went..... Connor first saw car string lights. "MeMe, Connor want that". Connor got that. Then they found sheets, a valance, pillows, etc. SO, who gave in... ME. Our plan is to paint one wall with a road and different types of transportation. Hopefully that will be the end result, but you can never tell.

OctoberFest

This weekend we took Connor to his first OctoberFest in Caddo Mills. Every year our good friends, The Michell's, put on a HUGE party for their friends and family. The last time Eric and I went I was pregnant with Connor, so we were so excited to go. They go all out..... food, live band and games for the kids. Connor got to play with all his friends on Saturday which he enjoyed. The best part of the night was the band. Not only were they sensational, but Connor ROCKED OUT. He danced the entire time. The kid has so much energy and he never gets tired. Thanks Michell's for inviting us again!!

Summertime = Funtime

What do you do with a two year old all summer long? Keep him busy!!! Connor and I had so much fun this summer taking swimming lessons, having playdates and going to the library. I love this time of year because we get to play all day and get to stay up late at night. The summer started by Eric and I taking Connor to Beaver's Bend for a long weekend. We had so much fun with Grammie, Grandpa, Aunt Kellie, Uncle Clint and of course Lanie. The kids got to swim in the lake, ride a train and "hunt" for sticks. We also took little man to Six Flags for the first time. If you know Connor, he is not scared of anything. He did not disappoint, he rode every ride without hesitation. I have attached a of a few of my favorite pics from the summer. They are at the top because that is the only spot I could get them to drag to. Remember I am still learning.

Seriously......

Usually when friends have a computer question, 9 out of 10 times I can answer or at least figure out the answer. I have been working on this blog on and off for over a month and CAN NOT figure out how to center my header. Seriously........ I guess there goes another talent. Now, Eric has tried to even write a new program to get it to be centered without success either so I have some hope yet. So, for now here is our new website that you will hopefully enjoy even though our pictures at the top are not centered.

For those of you faithful followers to Connor's old website, I gave into the peer pressure. So, here you go!! We hope you enjoy!!
