Ice Skating

Connor got roller skates for Christmas and had so much fun skating around the house. We got so much ice and snow in the backyard, he was determined to not fall down. On Saturday morning he woke up and asked Eric if he could go ice skating (outside on our patio). Eric got all excited and decided it was time for him to experience his first ice skating lesson. WHEW! I forgot how hard ice skating really was. I only skated a few times around but I think Eric and Connor skated for close to an hour. Carlee just watched and took in all the action. Connor didn't want you to let go of his hands, but he got pretty good figuring out how to move his skates back and forth. He was really good at walking around in them too! Thank you Dan and Michelle for coming to watch Connor!!!

PJ fun!!!

When we were pregnant with Connor we talked about starting traditions that we would look forward to every year. Who doesn't love to be comfy in PJ's? MeMe makes us all matching PJ's to wear Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning. Eric is such a good sport!! Connor kept saying "We all match!" The kid catches on fast doesn't he. ;)

Christmas 2009

This has got to be the best year yet. Watching Connor and Carlee open their presents and get so excited was pure JOY!!! Connor came running downstairs and saw Carlee's presents from Santa first and he truly was so excited for her. He kept saying "Look Carlee". We had to point out that Santa left things for him also. Every time he opened one of his gifts he would make this shocking sound and get a HUGE grin on his face. He was so sweet to Carlee and helped her open her gifts, he even helped her play with them. After all our presents were opened he walked over to the fireplace and yelled up, "Thank you Santa for all the toys. Come back next year." My mom and Al left around lunchtime, just in time for Eric's family to come over for a late lunch. Connor and Lanie had so much fun playing with all their goodies. Lanie even got to spend the night, which Connor thought was so cool. Eric and I truly are thankful for the best two babies!!! We hope you all had a VERY Merry Christmas!!!

A WHITE Christmas Eve

We had a blast playing in the snow on Christmas Eve!! The news said that it has been 83 years since the last white Christmas, I hope this starts a new trend. Connor had so much fun playing outside and I have to say Eric and I did also. :)

Santa Land

This past weekend we had our family Christmas in Tyler. On our way down there we pass a huge light show called Santa Land. Perfect timing because we didn't have to wait in line at all. The pictures do not do the show justice!! Connor LOVED it and Carlee could not figure out where all the lights were coming from. Connor even got to sit in the front sit and hang out the window. Gotta love that! Connor's light sword (that broke the next day) Entrance Daddy's favorite part!

Here comes Santa Claus, right down Foxwood Lane!

Santa came down our street on a firetruck!!!

Santa, Santa and more Santa

Connor and Carlee have already had a very busy and eventful December. Connor has seen Santa 4 times in the last week and there are more opportunities this week and Carlee has seen him 3 times. The more she saw him, the more she decided she did not like him. Whew, they are lucky kids! Last Friday, Dell had a "family" Christmas day. Eric was excited for me to bring Connor and Carlee out to hear Mrs. Claus read and to talk to Santa again. Connor sat so good listening to "Twas the night before Christmas". Then they both got to meet 'skinny' Santa. Carlee was a little unsure this time around. After we left Eric's work we rushed home for lunch and then to Color Me Mine to paint a plate with Santa. Connor loves to do arts and crafts, so I thought this would be the perfect activity for him. He had a ball and the Santa was a PERFECT Santa. WOW!! Carlee did not like him one bit, but he was so sweet kissing her sweet face and wiping her tears away. I can not wait to get their Santa plate back. Connor is excited to put cookies on it on Christmas Eve. Connor spent the night with Aunt Kellie and Uncle Clint on Friday night and had breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning. He was a little unsure about spending the night but had a BLAST!! Thank you Uncle Kellie :) and Uncle Clint!!!!

Happy 8 months Baby Girl!!!

Eric and I are still in shock..... 8 months!! Over the last month Carlee has had alot of first. She is crawling, standing, taking a few steps holding onto things, eating table foods and taking a bath with big brother. Ms. Carlee's first word was da-da, but quickly was followed by bubba. She claps when she gets excited and holds her arms up when she is ready for you to hold her. She has also experienced the roughness of Connor. (We knew it would come evidently.) He still loves her but sometimes thinks she is a rag-doll.

What a MESS!!

A few weeks back Connor saw a rice krispy gingerbread house kit and wanted to do it. I thought what a cute idea! Connor had so much fun making his 'spooky house' and was even more exicted about this. I love rice krispy treats BUT when you are not eating them, they are a mess. I sucked it up and made the house (which didn't even look like a house). The first words out of Connor's mouth were "Why isn't it standing up?" Nope.... it wasn't 3-D. That's OK because we will make it look good. So I let Connor go at it. He had so much fun with the icing and candy. Along the way, I said a few times "Can we please just throw away and get a real gingerbread house?" He was not going for it. So, he used all the icing and candy and turns to me and says "OK , Mommy your turn. Now we need windows, doors and a circle (which was the wreath)." Seriously? I explained that there was no room for those AND he had already used all of the materials. He was truly disappointed. So we kept it long enough to show Daddy and then in the trash it went. YES, we went and bought a REAL gingerbread kit. Lesson learned. :)

Decorating!

Yes, this is the finished product. I promise I read all the instructions!

We were impressed how well he put the icing on. It was nice just to supervise.

A thumbs up at the finished product!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Eric woke us up bright and early this morning to see a blanket of snow covering the ground. We were all excited to play in it! Too bad it didn't last too long. Carlee was a little unsure about how cold it was on her hands. I hope we have a lot more days of snow this holiday season!!!
